Pre war 24 inch camelback bicycle

I was looking for anyone with some information on this bike i picked up at a swap meet. It is a 24 inch with 36 spoke wheels, new departure setup and an old hawthorne badge. It looks to be like an old Zep style in the rear of the frame but the hump up front is throwing me off.

Looks like a 1938 Snyder-built Montgomery Ward Hawthorne Full Size Single Bar.

got a serial number? that always helps, look on the underside of the BB.
