I am new to this site and these are my first builds. I picked up a 63 and 67 Typhoon. The 67 was from a cat lady house and was in there for about 20 years. All original and not bad after a complete disassembly and cleaning.

Here is a before photo of the 63 - Has been repainted so this will be my more aggressive build. Photos to follow soon

63 typhoon build

Got the bike stripped down. Decided to try my hand at a little painting. I will roughly copy the design from a Phantom using a rattle can of Competition Orange
First the masking

I stripped it with some pinstripe tape and am pretty happy with how it came out

I was going to put a springer on front to mimic the phantom but when I saw the auction bike I had to try the truss rods

Thanks for the comments

Re: Pair of Typhoons Update

Starting to mock up the 63 to see how it might look. I took the chrome rims and white walls from the 67 so when I am done the 63 it will be back to the drawing board for the 67.

here is the rear set up with full fender, chrome s-7 and white walls. The full painted fender really gives this middle weight bike a balloon tire bike look.

Thanks for the compliment. I used competition orange rattle can and white pinstripe tape from local auto parts store. Clear fingernail polish on the ends to keep the tape from lifting. Not as nice as real painted pinstriping but way less expensive.

Re: Pair of Typhoons 63 DONE

Had the day off and completed the 63 Typhoon. My theme is sort of a "tip of the hat" to the Black Phantom. This bike floats down the street and is super comfortable. Since I stole the chrome rims from my 67 I will be putting white rims on that one. More to follow.

Re: Pair of Typhoons 67 done

Since I grabbed the chrome rims from the 67 to put on the 63 I then had to put the white rims on the 67. This then decided the theme for the bike - Black and White or as I like to think of it as a reverse oreo cookie.

Starting to mock it up. Took a white Troxal seat from a Roll Fast that is waiting for paint.

Made a skinny and close riding rear fender from a English 3 speed racer type rear fender

Had some old rusty bars from another Roll Fast. Painted them black and put white grips on . Seems pretty cool but I wonder if it should be white bars with black grips???????

Here she is complete. Just took it for a shake-down cruise and it went well.

Here are my Pair O Typhoons together. The 63 cruiser style for Sunday mornings and the 67 Rat style every day run around town bike.
