I started with this run of the mill Chinese rod brake bike

A nice vintage burgundy and gold pin stripes were laid down

The hoops are off of a junk 26" lightweight. I hit them with a multi color brown to simulate wood rims. Then laced them to a Union front hub and a Perry Two Star B-100 out back.

A set of Soma Major Taylor bars added to the look with twine grips.

Thanks for posting the photo's and the information. As you know I love vintage racers and your bike came out great.
 
I think it could use a seat with a bit less visual mass... it detracts from the elegant simplicity that you've achieved with the rest of this build. Again, that's just MY opinion - your mileage may differ.
