Re: New custom cruiser "Ya Daddy!"

Many times I see custom frames and the designs seem to look good in some areas and then off in other areas.

Both of those frames pictured above are spot on and look awesome.

Really love that finished bike. You need to post some nice photos of that one in the gallery.

Re: New custom cruiser "Ya Daddy!"

Incredible. You got a buyer right here if ya ever produce a few...hint hint

Well, almost finished - just needs the front brake fitted and some graphics/lines. Debut ride yesterday, was pretty sweet. Decided to spray it myself instead of powdercoat: three coats of lacquer, wet sanded with 1200 grit, then buffed back to a gloss - not perfect but am happy with my first proper paint job. Here it is:

Proper photos for the gallery coming soon.

Unfortunately, I've spent way too much time on this thing and now I'm not sure I'll be able to pull off my Anything Goes Buildoff idea :(

I was about to recommend more rake on the front end. Good thing you already did it.

Lookin good! 8)
Funny, I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing while studying the first photo, but it’s so awesome that I was going to keep quiet. The additional rake makes it about perfect!!!!!!! I mentioned to Uncle Stretch that I really love the chain stays that drop below the bottom bracket. 8)

Very, Very Nice Dman!!!!!!

Never got round to putting up decent photos of this thing so here goes:

I've never really been 100% happy with how this turned out though so may revisit it shortly. Any ideas would be gratefully accepted. In the meantime however it shares daily duty with my penny farthing.

nice lookin! but drop the seat, ditch the truss rods, and i would rework the top tube to make it flow better. like the laquer idea. :D

I really like this bike Dman, it has some slightly different lines than most which is great, however, the problem with most cruiser type frames is do we choose form or function?

I have a cantilever frame that is a long term project......I keep changing wheels/tires, bars etc to hopefully strike the right combination (I'm almost there!), and the one thing that always bugs me is seat height. When the seat is dropped so the bike looks cool, my knees nearly hit the bars and any ride more than a couple of miles is uncomfortable, and with the seat at the correct height, the bike just doesn't like right. With this style of bike, I feel that the bars should be the highest part of the bike.

So, my suggestion would be to rotate the bars forward/up a bit and drop the seat as far as you can.......only my opinion though, and I'm sure others may disagree. On one of my bikes that I ride the most, I use a quick release seat clamp so I can quickly lift the seat for longer rides or drop it for rides around the park or to the local store.

Keep up the great work, I'm looking forward to your next frame.

Wow, love the lines of this one. The colour combo is just amazing, too. Nice job!
