I couldn't justify buying an exspensive repair stand so I made one using 1/2" black iron pipe and a 1/2" pipe clamp. I may tweek it a little more. The base had to be tack welded to prevent movement. Well 30 minutes have gone by and my bike hasn't crashed on the driveway.
Parts:
1ea. 60" pipe
2ea. 36" pipes
3ea. 2" nipples
1ea. 10" pipe
2ea. 45* elbosws
1ea. 90* elbow
1ea. 1/2" union
1ea. 1/2" pipe clamp
1ea. 1/2" street L
1ea. 1/2" Tee
3 1/4" of 1" stainless pipe

I removed the pipe union, it couldn't handle the weight. I'm going to have to make a swivel from scratch.
Here's a picture of my wifes bike without the union and a straight seat post.
