I just finished my first Rat!
http://www.creativegrowth.biz/my_first_ ... /index.htm
It is a 1960s Huffy(not sure what year - I didn't find any stampings).
I'm not sure what model it was? The Galaxie and Silver Jet seem to be similar.
Although the bike looks good in the "before" photo, it was in pretty rough shape.
It wasn't abused, just left alone for decades.
I was able to keep: the frame(duh), forks, headset, handlebars, crank, and both wheels.
I replaced: the saddle, seatpost, pedals, handgrips, front sprocket, rear fender, and tires.
I added: and eight-ball bell.
The bike is mostly satin black. My bro-in-law painted the tank for me in a gloss black automotive paint.
I did a lot of research on this site before I even got the bike, so I knew EXACTLY what I wanted.
The bike turned out even better than I hoped.
