I have had the Electra for a while now, but it's been hanging around up on the wall for the past 6 months.
The last bikes I was working on turned sour when one of the got stolen from the garage, leaving me with a bad taste.

Didn't find anything interesting enough to work on at the usual spots so instead, I decided it was time to re-do my favorite.
Wasn't sure what to do on it, so I just let my decisions be based on whatever I had available to me already.

It started off black and glossy black, just the frame forks and the crankset from a old Realm I have had for about a year...

here's how it all went down....

part 2
before too long, I decided, the red tires I had from that yellow murray a few weeks ago had to be used on this bike and with them, the Gulf Racing colors had to be the way to go. I didn't go all out with the color scheme and pattern it to be exactly how Gulf does it... but I did add some elements of that style in along with what seemed to flow. hope you all like it...

Oh and of course, as I am working on this one, an ad on Craigslist caught my eye and for $40 I brought in the next in line...
The all too familiar looking but apparently not quite the same as the Electra Special!! or as it is sometimes called.. an OP Roller.

These are almost twins.... but more likely cousins...

Oh, no.... sorry about the confusion in how I wrote this up. My last 3 bikes prior to this had been the Realm brand cruisers....
The bike in this post is an Electra Coaster A1
The bike I have in line for next is a OP Roller
Both of these two seem to be exactly the same as far as materials, dimension, and quality. It is just the rear that differenciate the two frames.
