Monarch/Firestone tank question?

I have noticed that some tanks for Monarch / Firestone bikes have a cutout on one side.....I aways thought it was for a horn, but someone told me it can be for a reflector.....is this true.......please help!

The hole is for the horn button. Some JC Higgins Color-Flow bikes had jewel reflectors on the tank, but I think they are the only ones.

Reflectors on tanks? Schwinn did that back in the late 30's. Gary

I believe the firestone super cruisers had a handpainted crown emblem on the sides, kind of like a headbadge for the tank sides ... i could be wrong though.

edit - found a monark super deluxe with the crown emblems i was thinking of, looks like a resto job so i dont know how accurate this bike is. i was thinking it was either one or the other that had the emblems (monark or firestone) ... again i may be wrong on that.
