METASCO BIKES. Who knows what about them?

I've got this 26" ladies Metasco jet tank bike that is in pretty nice shape. I've had it for awhile now and I can find NO info on it! Can anybody enlighten me?

It looks very close to the Stelber built JC Higgins bikes from 1956, built in W.Germany I think. I also want to say Metasco was a dept. store brand, but I'm not totally sure. -Adam
