I've got an old mid-late 40's Huffman frame and fork. I'd like to keep the original fork but would like to have a springer type front end. All the repo springers I see are the entire fork/springer assembly. Is it possible to purchase everything minus the fork for a springer setup?

Thanks!

Someone actually sold a little kit to do this in the 50's, they were little rockers and springs that clamped onto the lower parts of the forks. That said they are somewhat rinky looking. I don't see any reason why someone couldn't make a beefier set that would work well. You might be able to use a set of valve springs for the suspension. Here's an idea for you.
