I recently got a Lycett L.15 Swallow leather saddle dated 1965. The Lycett company were taken over by Brooks in the 1920s.
My saddle was in rough condition, it had probably been left in a damp shed or garage for 43 years and never treated (and splashed with paint). I treated it with Proofide and got most of the paint off, which was easy with the leather condition. When I ride it it leaves a big brown mark on my jeans where the leather particles are soft and wearing away but now the saddle looks much better.
