leather seat help

OK after hours of searching i can not fond it again. i saw a post where someone recovered their seat with leather and ran a leather lace all the way around. if anyone remembers the tread please help me out and give me a link

So how do the laces hold up to the friction of riding?

Are they comfortable to sit on when you ride?

How close to the edge are you bring any type of padding?

I wondered about the leather straps wearing to but figured they were easy enough to do in the first place if I ever had to replace.
I have no padding in mine and it is surprisingly comfortable. I think because I got a really nice shape out of it??

Feels like a Banana Seat.

The padding is right up to the laces, carpet padding, 1 layer.
