So I picked up this bike a few weeks ago with my dad-in -law. After talking to a few people and looking at pic archives on nostalgic.net I'm thinking this is a 40s Huffman. However, I don't know a lot about them, so I was hoping one of the nice knowledgeable folk on here could help me narrow down a year and approximate value. SN is 178-3-9A11. I can take more pics on request.

Huffman for sure, but I'm going to date it a little more recent, based on the relatively large rear dropout and use of a standard chain. I think these are hallmarks of a post-war bike...but I'm guessing right after. Maybe 1947-48?

The dropouts on my 1941 Huffman aren't blunt like yours at all...they're practically shaped like arrowheads.
