While compiling parts for "This little piggy" and with the amount of times I've gotten parts then changed my mind. I've decided to do a "sister" build with some of those parts. This 1984 Montgomery Wards Open Road "Sparkler" girls bike is the base.

Did a quick mock-up with the new forks wheels and tires. I'm still debating on the crank and sprocket. She's going to get new bar's, grips and I have to make or find new riser's for the bars so I can get my 2 sockets back. I'm going to reupholster the seat. I've ordered paint and I'm looking at possibly changing to a smaller front wheel. And I've ordered a few other accessories for her. So far I like it.

Cool idea, and great start with the fork mods. I'm with Matti ^^, those risers are begging 'socket to me'. :wondering::nod::wink1:

Here's some inspiration from the King....

I'm trying a set of motorcycle fully adjustable handlebars I picked up from Amazon on her. I originally got them for "This little piggy" I like the bars, I'm just not sure if they work for this build. I'll give them a few days and see. I may replace them with a silver set instead of the blue. I needed a bit more height for them so now I'm down 4 sockets, but they for sure have grown on me and are now going to stay put.

That's gonna be the coolest little girl's bike West of the Mississippi and East of the Black Hills!

You could always keep the blue bars and maybe look for a metallic blue spray to match and pull the fenders and chain guard and spray them to match. Just a thought. I like how the bright blue 'takes it up a notch' !

RaT oN~!

I thinking about using the existing paint layout, but repaint both the white and the blue in this pearl white paint and this Kandy blue. And then paint "This Little Piggy" same colors but opposite layout.

Got the paint in yesterday. Test painted a 16" rim with the metallic blue over a light gray primer. It's a paler blue then what's showing on my phone. I like it. I'm going to try it over a dark gray primer or maybe black primer to see the difference. I'm only using the blue for the rims, chaingard and accent on this bike. It's main body will be a pearl white. Then I'm painting "This Little Piggy" the opposite paint scheme. Blue with white accents. Got a couple surprises for both as well.

Got these on Amazon for $30 delivered. They have them in silver and black as well. You need about 5 hands to put them together and get everything lined up though. Lol. The forks a NOS 1977 Murray Fire Kat forks. The forks on "This little Piggy" are from the 1977 Murray King Kat.
