I have this kick stand I want to use. Very rusty but have manage to soak it in some liquid wrench and it moves now but has a gritty sound when it does. Do you think I can soak it in some Naval Jelly to get the inside cleaned up better then try and get some grease in there? Is there a better product I might try? Looks to be riveted together so am a little leery of disassembling it to clean it up.
You might try soaking in common white vinegar. You'd be surprised just how effective it can be in only a few hours. Rinse thoroughly after the soak and try to get some lube in there. I have a modified "flavor injector" with a long needle to get into tight spaces like that. Don't laugh...it works like a charm.
