Just picked up - $20 1963 Schwinn

Bought on eBay and picked up this past week. According to the serial number it's a 1963. Based on the fenders, I believe it to be a Corvette. Not sure, but I don't believe the color is original. Missing chain, handlebars and stem. Seat is in great shape and has bow pedals, S-2 rims, Schwinn script front hub, and Bendix Red Band rear hub. Will be repainting soon.

Super score for $20!! :shock: Probably is a 'vette, since the only other 63 mens' with the S reflector was the Jaguar Mark V, which had a springer fork. -Adam

I've got it all torn down and am trying to gather parts. I'm missing a rear axle nut but I don't know the size or thread count - a search didn't help. If I understand correctly, most Schwinn parts were not standard. Everything so far has been marked "Schwinn" except the cranks, which are Wald.

So, here's the finished product so far. I left it ratty. May paint later. The fork is bent but works good enough.

do like I always did as a kid and turn the fork around backwards and run into a wall just fast enough to bend'r back again
