In my experience, this is generally the case, but not necessarily. From what I understand, if you are talking the same year, yes, but in the case of different years, there can be a noticeable difference in the slot for the tank. The older Colorflow will not fit the Jetflow tank I had (the Jetflow tank was about 1 inch taller) for instance.
On the other hand, when I insert an older Colorflow tank into the slot of my Jetflow frame, there is a considerable gap on the bottom. I purchased one frame that the seller listed as a Colorfow frame, but the tank gap is far too large for any of the 3 Colorflow tanks I have (they fit, but just with the gap I mention at the bottom), while neither of the Colorflow frames I have will fit the Jetflow tank.
