JC Higgins Help

I picked up this Higgins as a throw in with a couple Schwinn lightweights about four weeks ago. Over in the Fresh Finds section I was told it was Monarch built from 1949. I've been trying to find information on it for weeks now and have come up pretty much empty.

I'd really like to find a tank for this bike but I've not been able to figure out if it ever came with one or if one from a Monarch might fit.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated!

I want to say Monark, because of that plate on the bottom and the sprocket.

I have 2 serial # lists for Monark, one places it at the end of 49 and the other early in 50. Either way your bike was probably a 1950 model. Can't tell if it orig had a tank but one from a Monark should fit. Looks like a Monark Rocket frame.

After researching the Monarch Rocket a little. it seems that the same bike was sold as a JC Higgins, Firestone, Western Flyer, and Monarch...

Would I be correct in assuming that the tank from any of these bike's tank would fit right onto my bike?
