Wow, three-dimensional headers.. As I recall, J.C. Higgins just painted their's on.
Four on each side. Must be a V-8. Love the bike.
Thanks for the comment. I seem to remember my first bike as a kid in the early 50's being a 24" Sears J.C. Higgins with the painted headers on tank. I remember taking the tank and horn off. I didn't like the way it looked, yah seems strange now.
Yep V-8 it is with 3 on the tube and alkaline tank.

Really nice work! there are a few touches I missed in the thread, so was good to see detailed pics!

Luke.
Thanks, Luke I guess your comment reinforces the need for a good overall photo to represent the bike at the end if you are after votes.

love th led lights on the bottom near the forks!
Thanks patman, the lights and mounting cylinders are left over from last years build. They went unused so they found a home on the Higgins.

You did it man, you did it..
Yep, Rharris I think I'll consider it done. Need to decide on what pics to use for final thread post.

Since Xmas decorations are starting to show up I went looking for some mini lights with a sequential flashing mode to no avail. So the tank headers have flashing and on modes as previously shown. Batteries and switches are in cookie press. Taillight could us one of those blue button lens that they use put in 50's custom taillights.

Yeah... that'd be cool. They're called "blue dots" and I had some on my old 1951 Chev...

They create a really cool purple haze when the light is on.

I have wanted to do a bike with them in for a while. Paint it purple and call it Purple Haze...

Ordered the "Blue Dots", going to try to make this work. I experimented with cutting out some plexiglas for the lens. Having trouble getting the small hole drilled out. I dropped the glass lens off at a glass shop for drilling out the hole.

The light has an LED conversion bulb. The original lens is glass, so I decided to use some plexiglas.

with the fly cutter I was able to cut out several blanks after slowing down the drill press speed. The first one at high speed is scrap.

the next issue was getting the 15/16" center hole to work. New type spade drill didn't work in drill press, drill motor or brace. I resorted to an old dull spade bit.

I back painted two of the blanks, and went to pick up the blue dots.

I put the lens in temporarily.

Have some light leakage around metal bezel which I'll try to seal. If the glass shop is able to drill the old lens it will be a one inch hole which may actually fit the bezel better. We will see next week.

You always do killer work with your lighting!!!
I still remember the insulator bundt pan light last year.

I did a few retakes this AM for iAM HIGGINS. His brother buddies Kustom Coaster III and Hammered Higgins came out to watch.

Out of the three, this is your best work yet! Congrats on a job well done.
Thank you sir. I enjoyed seeing screen printing show up in your build. Before I retired I used to teach a couple of HS graphic arts classes. Seems like burning and finishing a good screen in 50 minutes was always an issue.
