The Sun was just setting so it looks pretty cool in the Orange Sky

I removed the rust on the Chainring a bit

talk about Rusty Bikes
And I installed a New KMC Chain in Blood red to Top it Off..

so..It Rides way nicer now...
I would Love to hear some Feedback about The Bars
set up this way..Vs. The Old Bars...
They Ride just as nice in either configeration..

Thanks in advance for the feedback,
peace,
Kev.

Those drop bars are grade-A. The curve of the bars nicely compliments the shape of the headlight and the curve of the fork struts. Good eye Kev.

Great photos too, this ones in my screensaver now:

(Hope you don't mind)

I don't mind at all MP..
I'm flattered...

thanks for the feedback...
and I LOVE that KMC Chain I put on...

do you have any links to Colored BMX Chains besides KMC.
I know you can get KMC in Red and Blue...
I was wondering if anyone makes Yellow,Gold,green..

or The Red/Black/Red/Black like poppa wheelie has on his
RRBBO bike.

peace,
Kev.

Kev just so you know, That fork is called a "Shockmaster" fork. When they switched to the curved lower truss rods like yours, they were marketing the bikes as being safer, since they now came with "bumpers".

Ehh squirt some pb blaster on them barrings roll them around on a shop rag rapack them, Clean ur barring cups..... Yeah i do that alot with all the mud bogging i do lol.

Thanks Antony..
I new they where 1949 Western Flyer equiped.
I new they where Cleveland Welding made..

but I DID NOT know they where call Shockmasters.

I really appreciate that info, and the Safety reasoning behind it all.
I am a real nestalga freak with stuff like this so
that was awesome of you to speak up!!!

thanks again Bro,
Kev.

hey kev sorry i have not been around love the rollfast. that bike really is to me what rat rod bikes are all about. a mix of vintage parts, patina, maybe a bit of new parts tossed in as well. love the drop bars you know i am a sucker for them lol. personally i find bars that come straight out to the sides more comfortable but those look really nice on yours. what are those off of? keep up the good work glad to be back now i gotta bust out the build off bike again and git r done just so it is off my mind lol even if it is too late.

bars up, bars down, don't matter to me,
what I really like are those beautiful redwalls.
really though, I personally like em up.
the motorbike look is sick and all, it just looks uncomfortable to ride.
beautiful lookin bike either way.

I forget which bike I got those bars from..
I think it was a Department store bike I salvaged at the dump.

The Black Grips are from a kids bike..neat little
flare on the end of them..

I was thinking about putting a set of old Taper Light Mountain
bike bars on..more like the straight bar look...

I will do this on a future build...these where laying around, so
I recycled once again,

good to see yaa back Karfer,
Kev.

Now that I've got the brain in gear and am posting to the right thread , let's try it again:

Coloured chains:

http://www.coloredtuffs.com./shop/index ... t&catId=13

http://home.comcast.net/~everythingrini/misc.htm

http://www.chainganglowrider.com/Part%2 ... 0Guard.htm

Gold/Red/Blue/Purple seem to be the most common, green is a bit of a rare bird though.

I'll do a bit more Google mining and let you know what I find.

Of course, there's always the 'bay, but then you're competing against the vintage BMX guys with some with very deep pockets.

that fork is one of THE COOLEST forks i have ever seen, did it come on that bike??

Hi Kev! I'm a fan of the board-racer look, so in my opinion u should keep the 'bars upsidedown,The overall look is ''STYLE'' specially tanks 2 those vintage forks, but i said that already on the ''antiqueing'' Thread so 'nuff said!
Thumbz up!

Easy...The tank serves no purpose other that
rattling and squeeking while I ride

Tomb...The Forks didn't come Stock to that bike..
they are 1949...from a Western Flyer.

thanks again for the input guys..
Kev.

geez, you know, i read ALL of the "antiquing" thread the other day, and i TOTALLY forgot that the fork was on this bike... lol

i gotta get one of those forks somehow, beautiful.
I really want a unique springer for my project, the "standard cruiser schwinn type" just doesnt cut it for me... :)

with "yeshoney"..it was an awesome Trade..
It worked out well for both of us.....

I love them myself because they are Unique.

send a PM to "yeshoney"
he is a big E bayer.....and if they are to be had,
he would probably know where..
He's also an incredible guy to talk to ,and do
business with :!:

Kev.

That is my vote. I think the bars look good with the curves, but functionality and comfort are number one. Great lookin specially with the sunlight.

I rode it around for a while today..
The bars are actually very comfortable..
I could ride it for a day without gettin a sore back
for sure...

Kev.

I'll try the Taper Lights just to see..
thanks again for the input cman,
Kev.
