Thanks! I wasn't sure how to do that last night.Welcome to the fun of a RRB build off!
Just a tip, when you upload your photos, click on "Full Image" and then the image will load so we see it in full view, and don't have to re-click on the file again.
I don't think we have many, if any, from S. Dakota on this site. Welcome again!
RaT oN~!
Are they big now?Well, your first photo came out big anyway!
Click Full Size for each one you load to a post.
Those stickers and head tag tell the story of this bike. It would be cool to keep them. I did a restore of my friend's '69 Schwinn Stingray a couple of MBBO's ago. Basically, I used 3M blue tape over the stickers and logos I wanted to keep. Make sure you seal the tape well along the edges of the stickers. Leave on through the cleaning, priming, and painting process.
Here are a few photos from what I did with his.
What it looked like when I got it....

With the blue tape applied to prep the paint 'refresh'. I just used the factory match paint and did a spray over on the original. No primer coat.

The results. His bicycle license, Twins logo, etc intact just the way they were in 1969. The Schwinn approved water decals were added to go along with the refresh.

And I do plan to keep the stickers. I have 3 local bike in my collection. One is a 70s fair lady 20" with my home town stickers and license and the other is an 85 predator black shadow from the same town as this bike. Are they big now?
Well they have nice donar parts. Seat and sissy bar at least. And there are plenty of them around.View attachment 106837 looks alot like this one I parted out.
Not, I haven't. I haven't taken it apart yet.Yeah...there is nothing special about these girls bikes...they had a ridiculous variety of model names for essentially the same bike. However, the SN challenge is real . I found a little tidbit that might indicate this is a '77, but not the same tidbit as Dr.T...but, I'm still having trouble believing this bike pre-dated Miami Vice .
Have you looked on the head tube for an ID#?
