I found this 10spd sitting out for free. A bud lives two houses down and he said it was sitting under a snow bank since last November.

was surprised how well the paint cleaned up after sitting in snow all winter. maybe snow is a good preservative?

drilled the rivets out holding the outside larger chain ring on and I like the look of the little chain ring alone:

seat tube clamp is the end of a handlebar stem. I like the bolt, it reads "WIN"

only problem with this bike is that after I built it I was like; "eh..." I don't see me riding it. So I'll probably sell it. Probably will lose money based on what I paid for rack and wheels. At least putting it together kept me busy for a few hours.

That's why I love this Forum!

I have put SOOO many Huffy's (especially 10 speeds) out of their misery in the last 20 or so years, because their generally considered worthless in these parts. Heck, I probably have 20 of those same bikes donated to me every year. That looks like one of the best pub crawlers I've seen yet, and if someone snatches it...no biggy.

I've done alot of these types of conversions, but I always look for the old Fuji Light weight road bikes. I peared one Fuji down to a fuzz under 17 lbs. once, it flew.
