Hub geared racer

I recently bought a racer with 3 speed sturmey archer gears - the type with an oil port. I cleaned it up and put new handlebar sponges on, the old ones were falling apart. The bike cost £15. I'll probably sell it because of the 24in frame, I prefer a 21in.

Does anyone know what period hub geared racers were common?

Well, they were popular before derailers were common, but this was made much later, it has aluminum rims, which is very neat, and indicates that it's made in about the 80's or after. It's most likely an AW, but it should say on the hub, it will also tell you when it was made.

I just checked - it's an AW hub of 1982.
