I use a hair dryer.

Heat gun works great but WD-40 isn't doing too good on the residue. How will rubbing alcohol work?

Try lighter fluid on the adhesive residue. It works great & doesn't leave an oily residue like WD40. I used to be in the sign business & we used gallons of it! Use paper towels & flip them over or replace as they get gummy.

Plastic razor blades from napa auto parts are great for lifting the edge. When I heated them to about 200F (Guessing, but it felt about has hot as when I touch a tea pot of boiling water) they lifted off clean. Clean enough i think i could have put them on cardstock to save them. What very little adhesive remained cleaned up easily with WD40 or rubbing alchohol.

One i got the hang of it it was FUN!

Heat gun supporter here. Pulled the side badges off my 3G. Used every type of chemical and could not get the adhesive off. Less than 5 minutes with a heat gun, gone.
