The serial number on my AMF Roadmaster is: J0989936
It is a womens 26" and it is bronze color. It has a three speed hub. I would like to know what year it was manufactured, where it was made, possible original selling price, and any other info available. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum Deborah! AMF has been in business a long time. They bought out the Cleveland Welding Co. (owners of the Roadmaster name) in the early 1950s. And they continuted making bikes up through the 80s or 90s. Unlike other companies, there isn't a definitive list of serial #'s to reference. There is enough out there to date the early ones, from the original Roadmasters of 1935 through the last Cleveland built ones in 1956. Less info is available for the newer ones, but one thing to remember is that the BMA/6 decal was added in 1971 and onwards. Posting a picture of your bike can also narrow down the range of years, by several features and styles of parts. -Adam
