im really not happy with the way the chainguard turned out. i didnt know how to handle the raised letters so i just painted over them to worry about it another day. maybe ill go back to the original chainguard instead of this one that came from ebay.

Two years ago a lady called and asked me to fix up her husbands old bike as a surprise for his birthday. She had me pick it up when he wasn't home and then she had to let the police in on the secret when he reported it stolen. I think it turned out pretty nice and he was very surprised and happy. I believe it is the same model Hiawatha as yours.

that looks great! did you figure out what year it is? im still unsure about the year. i wish i could find that headlight to replace the one i have.

Best I can figure is they are late 1940's. Good luck with the headlight. I've run across a couple over the years. They usually look like yours or worse. The cool thing about these bikes is the repitition of the bar pattern on the light, tank, chain guard and fenders.

yeah, im looking for a replacement rear fender. i cant bring myself to settle for normal round fenders. the originals are so much cooler.

WOW!..........Beautiful!
