Hawthorne badged rollfast what year?

  1. My brother picked up this nice rollfast at the auction nice original paint but had the head badge painted white with what might have been faded paint/gratis over that. I scratched it off with my nail and it's clearly a brass hawthorn badge? I know they were in together but never seen two names on the same bike? Anyone know the year? I put the bars grips pedals tires and junk seat on it and helped him clean the chrome up its got a horn tank skip tooth dogleg crank and really cool mudflap

Snyder was the co. that built all Rollfasts, and most Hawthornes. That badge was new for 1950, and used through the decade. It may have the year stamped in reverse, on the BB. "25 EH" would be '52, etc. The tank is simply off a different bike. Snyder used the same frame dimensions for many years, so tanks interchange easily. -Adam
