I have this bike I'm building for my wife. It was badged a Hawthorne. I was hoping someone would know who manufactured the bike so I could figure out the year. Thanks

The frame was made in 1942, which is the '24' in reverse. Made by Snyder, makers of Rollfast. BUT, that badge was used in 1948 and 49 only! It seems odd that there'd be a leftover frame that late after the war. But Phil has documented a few prewar Snyder built Hawthornes that have the reverse year stamping. I've also seen early-mid 50s bikes stamped 35 and 55, so it would seem they kept up with that codsing for a while. -Adam
