probaly been at least a good 15 years since i tried a chrome paint. if anyone's noticed, i pretty much haven't painted a bike period. but since i'm trying to rattle can a couple, there's also a few pieces i'd like to get halfway shiny. like at the moment, a plastic chainguard.

so have they gotten any better? any particular brand do better than others? thanks.

Excellent question! The only one I've found that's decent looking is an industrial spray paint by Sherwin Williams. Used it to repaint a faded Schwinn "S" reflector housing. About as chrome-y as you could expect from a can. -adam

There are some great chrome paints on the market now but most are not rattle can. Even then they require more preperation. The surface must be super smooth or you'll see every flaw. My smooth, I mean polished clear coat smooth. They should be used over black too. Here's one spay chrome that I've used on my R/C car bodies with good results: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wt ... XJLV7&P=ML
