Half Link Pin Issue

Anyone ever use a half link but it's so tight that the link doesn't move easily? Now I don't mean the chain as a whole is too tight, the pin is super tight.

Which one did you get? I notice on the kmc half link chain the link is extremely tight. It does not bind when riding but by hand it does. I prefer the shadow conspiracy half, and cult 510 half link. Light weight and the half masterlink is smooth.

Yup kmc, figures! I did some research on the MTBR forum and apparently it's a kmc issue. I have used them before but oh well guess I'm out $7.

I'm being told the chain breaker tool should have another way of spreading the half link a bit. Guess I'll have a look tonight.
