maybe theyre adjustable for the types of brakes you use, some brakes need more cable pull than others.

The brake adjust H/L changes the pivot point. It changes the feel of the brakes to either hard or soft. Personal preference.

Looked at that site, wow are those overpriced

Retail: $1025.00
Price: $525.00

A similarly equipped bike at Wal Mart would maybe run $150-200 for a name brand.

Agreed, it looks like a cheap Chinese bike. Cleaned up, it could bring $75 on craigslist depending on the values in your area...

I disagree. That gruppo (STX-RC) was a mid level group. I don't know who makes the frame, but but it certainly is not a department store bike.

Ehh, at the time there was maybe XTR -> XT -> LX (maybe a Deore in between) for real mtbs anything lower was a grade of department store gruppo Alivo, STX, Acera and the like. It may have been in the middle name-wise but there was a fast dropoff in $/quality after LX. Probably a 10 year old bike by components

i find as a general rule, lbs don't sell department store bikes. (they leave that to the department stores, they just cant compete with the prices.)

since it does have a bicycle store sticker, i imagen somebody paid way too much for it once upon a time. def. a step up from a walmart bike.

hahaha....
Where did you get ahold of a mormon missionary bicycle?

Now all you need is to convert people you see on the streets..... to ride, and quit driving their cages.
