Going from singlespeed to fixed - ratio question

i run 48/16 and i like it. :) it should be a bit higher than a normal cruiser if you have flat lands, lower for hills.
 
no problem man. its quite simple to think of. lets say you have a fifteen-speed whatever, trek, fuji, giant, mongoose, doesnt matter. whatever gear combo is your favorite and can get you up a kinda tall hill, or wont wear out your legs cuz theyre going like, 80000 RPM. :lol: thats the combo to go with.
 
Thanks, yes i'm used to singlespeed but I was thinking how people talk about fixed gear as having a flywheel effect of stored energy and maybe having the same ratio as a person's s/s might be a little bit too low.
