I’ve always been a fan of Rat Rod/Hot Rod Culture after seeing rat rod bikes at the local car and bike shows. It was love at first sight. I am the purist when it comes to authenticity. I own 12 Schwinn Cruisers from 1950-1980 and also a 2008 (girlfriend’s bike). All are riders except one. After going on “Rat Rod Bikes” it inspired me to get my 1950 panther out of storage and out of the box, it had been sitting there for 10 years. The previous owner rattle canned it red without primer under the paint. (OUCH!) Restoration of the old dog was started but I ran out of money and it never got finished. For once I decided to break tradition and break the rules and build something fun the way I wanted to build it, not the way it was supposed to be built. This was a super fun project more so than any of my other bikes. I really missed riding this old dog. Isn’t riding them what it’s all about? Now that this one is done I’m going to be doing a 1956 Hollywood Polynesian Rat Rod for my girlfriend. I hope to have pictures when it’s finished.
Thank you Rat Rod Bikes for letting me show my creative side.
Here are some pictures of what it look's like. I hope you like it.
