Nice work. I had an Electra straight 8 with a sram 3 speed coaster hub which did the same thing. I never bothered to fix it before I sold it but read it had something to do with the grease the factory used causing certain parts in the hub to stick.

Nice ride and a very thorough restoration you did here.

Those ribs on the tire sides were/are pretty standard here in Europe as until a few years ago it was mandatory by law to have a generator mounted for your lights.
The valve (here called Dunlop valve) is also still used on most of the "normal" bikes here around. For most tire sizes you can choose between car-, presta- or dunlop-valve

Thanks. It’s a very unusual bike here. I like finding odd bikes. I have a flying pigeon and a 1940s triumph. Both with rod brakes. Need to tackle one of those soon.
