Free speedster

a buddy gave me this speedster, quick cleanup and lube, turned out to be a nice rider. Missing the head badge, but they left the screws. Broken rear fender brace. Also needs tires

It's the large oval, holes are 3 1/8" I think I have on coming from another forum member

Looks like S-7 wheels, be sure to order the right tires 26 x 1 3/4 for Schwinn. Nice original blue paint and if those are S-7 rims, the chrome may come back nicely.

Also, it looks like a early to mid 60's bike, the serial number is on the left dropout, and you can find the date of manufacture using it.

Cool! I was expecting a diamond frame version. I believe the MW Speedster was omly made 59-61. -Adam

Yup...mine is dated Dec '62 and is the fastback frame. Your cantilever is earlier than that, and the diamond frame models came later.
