Hi from Geneva you gotta try the Fox river trail it's great. We ought to try and get some RRbikes out here next summer say at the Goodies car show on rt 38 in St Charles on Wed. nights then do a bar cruze.

I live in So.IL. now but grew up in Aurora, I was a fox river rat from way back. Love the windmill, I remember one along the river in Batavia years back is this the same one? It's been 20yrs. since my last visit to the area.

Yea its the same one! Its been rebuilt about 5 yrs ago and is now operational an can be toured. Kinda neet to pass by it and see the sails turning .

We were in Illinois (barely) and rode along the Mississippi. Also rode some trails that had "river" in the name in other states. Not this one though.
Looks like a good excuse to go back.

This mornings ride to work. I forgot to install my studded Nokians this weekend but the majority of the path got bike plowed by my friend Dave.

The ride to work today. The temp was 3 deg and I got a good beard icing. Not cold enough for "tearsycles" yet though.

I grew up in Batavia. All those pics bring back memories. We used to sled right there at the windmill. And warm up next to the fire in the little building there. I still see some of that from time to time. We even had school pic nics across the street from the windmill and across the river at the old private zoo, which was always the coolest part of that area for me. Ah the memories. Thanks.
