Been lurking here for a while, thought I would share my first attempt at a bike .I started with a J.C. Higgins skip tooth, sorry didn't take pics until I tore it down,I lowered rear by stretching rear bottom tubes, then cut both front tubes to stretch it a little.now pedals are about a inch off ground.Still gotta long way to go on it.Thinking gonna paint it flat black some some lime green accents,This is my first build so didn't think about the chain. Now I gotta find a short piece of skip tooth chain to stretch it out a little.any ideas or advice of any kinda will be appreciated

Re: first attempt a a build

cleaned welds on frame up,cut seat post clamp off to lower seat some, and did a mock up today,Im a truck mechanic so added truck brake valve knobs to handle bars.also put a steering wheel spinner knob on it,put a freightliner emblem on basket,I guess it gonna be a trucker theme bike.tore it down and painted and frame and forks,it is drying now.

paint the fenders black, with green stripes running fore-aft. solves the green vs too much green problem, as well as the wet ... problem
