Firestone bike question...

I'm not familiar with them, it's a Firestone 500. One popped up local to me for $50. If I pick it up, should I strip it for parts (anything usable for Schwinns?) or ride it?

Looks like a Murray built bike from the chainring. That would be a good base to build from.

I think I got a better deal than you :|I got mine for $25 bucks :mrgreen: I kept mine as I got it. Just changed the bars. If I were you I'd keep it as is :mrgreen:

I'll concur, that is good just as it is.

Only thing I'd change would be the seat, and maybe throw some apes on there. And both the blue and black bikes were built by Snyder (makers of Rollfast) in the early 60s. Their Murrayesque chainring has one major difference, the inner ring of cutouts around the crank are triangular, Murray's are oval. -Adam
