Fender to fork bolt size?

Any idea what size bolt goes in the bottom of this Shwinn fork to hold the fender. May have to tap it.

Maybe take the fork to the hardware store and see what fits? Then find the length you need

Thought about that also. There was a bent and broken bolt in it that I had to drill out. May just ise a plastic pop in fastener I picked up at Lowe's on the project parts isle. Gonna be difficult to tap the hole in between the forks.

You should be able to get a drill motor in there to install a Helicoil. The fork looks thick enough to hold one. 8)

put the tap in ur cordless drill,go slow. It will slip in the chuck instead of breaking. I'd go 1/4-20
Im a maintenance tech, in a industrial plant. I do it all the time....what ize drill bit did ya end up using? 3/16? tap 1/4-20
1/4? go 5/16 -18 tap
