This is my current project its a 1950 Schwinn Panther Frame that I got for Christmas from My wife she also got Me the stainless tank.I started this with intentions of a 2 stroke motor/shift kit 8 speed. It is now going to be a 2.5 HP 4 stroke with a EZ Motorbike tranny and belt/sheave drive. This is what I got so far;
This is how I got the frame (not my shop :( )

Front wheel I laced 90 mm sturmey 12 ga. Spokes

The frame mostly sanded and bars and seat thrown on so I feel like Im actually getting somwhere

Re: EZ Motors HF 1950 Panther

Here is the bike all assembled awaiting the EZ Motorbike tranny so we can weld in mounts. After that Ill be painting.

Re: EZ Motors HF 1950 Panther

Mounts welded in motor and tranny fit , although there is a problem with the drive pully and sheave lining up. Sheave spacers are the solution.

Re: EZ Motors HF 1950 Panther

Got the sheave and pulley all lined up. Belt tensioner all figured out, rear fender fitted and a few other little bits. Took it apart for painting. Heres a pic for before paint

Hitting the home stretch , just waiting on a few odds and ends to come, belts cables , etc...

Re: EZ Motors HF 1950 Panther

The bike is all set. Just a few more little things to do with it. Ive been cruising all over the place and this is one nice handleing bike. I cant find enough reasons to take a "quick little ride"

8) Blackened cylinder fins, and either blacken or :idea: match the primary drive cover to the red and stripes on the frame would add authenticity to the look, IMO.

Re: EZ Motors HF 1950 Panther

BrokenSpoke,

SportsCarPat will build you one, google Sportsman Flyer and e-mail Pat. Another source is http://www.piratecycles1.com; this tank looks like the same one they had built by Pat for their Worskman bike. Pirate's in-frame tank sells for $300 plus S&H.

Re: EZ Motors HF 1950 Panther

This is how the bike stands now. I had a chance to purchase a really nice shape 47 Whizzer kit minus a couple parts.It was rebuilt a few years ago and slightly ported but its mainly stock. Im going to go with the previous paint style.
