I picked up a couple of frames and 2 rims, as well as a headset for $20
Not bad, they were in good shape and were both aluminum, I posted previously on the first one.
this one, it was a OP Roller frame, I'd had one before, but really didn't like how it ended up.
I'd seen twenty 2 that was built on this forum and I loved it, but I didnt want to copy it... so I went another route.
I had this green paint I picked up at walmart cuz I am a sucka for sales and it was only 1.50 that day. not a typical paint to use on a bicycle, and I was using this build just to let my mind be open to what I had around and get creative... so green it was.
i carved out a little wood plaque with my dremel to put in the gas tank area, and chopped some drop bars from a road bike to use on this build. riding it with these bars made it feel like a airplane with how your hands were positioned.
The final thing was to get some red spray paint and give the rims a contrasting and sort of edgy treatment... I mean with all the green and red and wood on it... it could be a x-mas themed bicycle... but no... it was not. it was a bold different use of that color scheme... hence... edgy. in my head at least.
the guy who came by for it was totally stoked when he saw it, which will hopefully give me the motivation to do more of the same.
here are some pics of its transformation from frame to fame.
