I am pretty sure it's an Elgin. Anyone know what year?

Yeah Mercury Pacemaker or World's Fair. 1940-41 era. Sweet bike indeed! These have a really cool look about them.
 
You should be able to dechiper the year from the stampings on the BB. It should have a prefix of MO, plus a letter. MO-B would be 1937, they used this alphabetical year through N in 1949. They skipped O and went with P for 1950. Some bikes, like those made for Sears through the mid 50s were stamped MOS-X, with X being the variable year letter. -Adam
 
Thanks for all the comments and valuable info, I sold the Mercury at the Eden Bike Show and Swap.
 
Man I wish I would have went to that show it was only a 20 hour drive one way. But I would have gave at least $400 for that bike just to match my men's.
