So, I had a 2005 Electra Rat Rod and I loved it! The problem with it was, it was a steel frame. Very heavy and I really didn't want to mess with this bike since it had like 1 mile on it when I bought it. The original owner bought it, rode it, but he found it to be too small for his 6' 5" frame and put it in storage. I got it from him early last year. Well, I sold it. Then found a 2004 beat to heck Electra Custom. This is almost the same frame as the Rat Rod, in aluminum, but not forward pedal. Got it for $100.00. It had a Carver Surf rack on it, which I immediately put on CL and sold for $80.00. So, this is my new build bike, for a starting price of $20.00. Here is the parts list so far, Shimano 3i from a woman's Giant cruiser for $115.00, resold the Giant for $75.00 = net cost $40.00, the following parts from RRB's for sale list, Electra rims and tires 24x1.75 with Fatti-O tire and 26x1.75 with 26x2.125 Electra tire, a heavy duty bent seat post and a set of BuiltPoor bars from sensor. Gonna strip it down and either paint it or powder coat it. We'll see.
