How nice is that! What do you mean "almost finished"? Its already so cool 8)
Thanks 8)
It is in fact nice, but it's not enough. It needs some black graphics on the frame and maybe a new saddle, then I may say it's "so cool"

I'm LOVING this Rockabilly redux. My LBS has had a 2008 Rockabilly in Matte Sand sitting on the floor since 2008 and I've got a few ideas about what to do with it. I NEED something since some unsavory jerk STOLE my Boney Finger last week.... :(
Thanks! :D Sorry about Your BF :(

That thing looks gorgeous! And, yes......some black hooch on the frame would polish it off.

Questions, though..........Is that a Nexus roller brake up front? I can't tell from the pics how the front brake arm is attached to the fork tube, or is it, yet? I'm looking at doing a Sturmey Archer X-FD front drum brake on my Rat Fink, and been trying to figure out an an elegant method for attaching the arm to the fat fork tube. It appears SA only offer 2 sizes of the "slip in" style clamp, and both are way too small for these forks. Also, what width rims did you put on there?

It's a Shimano roller brake, BR-IM41F. A few cuts, welds (the brake didn't fit at all), piece of a small pipe for brake cable, and a slip in mount, weld on to the tube.

Rims are 56mm wide, but if I ever get to change them, I will buy Rigida DHL65!

I love this color!
hey, is it just me, or does the frame look just like a Straight8?
(rear stays, tank shape)

Rockabilly Boogy, Straight8, Boney Finger, HellBilly and Lakester share the same frame.

Me would like to have a Electra to ride during the coming wintermonths.
The first Electra bike i bought was this Ratrod.
Foto-ZS7SFYXX-D.jpg

Tried it with the standard 7spd. wheels from my Basman 883.
Foto-RFJTOTYK-D.jpg

It was not so bad and drove realy nice, but it was not the bike i was looking for.
And i tought it was to good to drive trough the winter.

When i found this RS on the net for only a few € i knew i should buy it.

Foto-I7FXKE74-D.jpg

As it was when i bought the RS.
Foto-IXEEY7KE-D.jpg

First cleaned up the bike a bit.
Removed the flatt black paint that was sprayed on the bike.
Mounted a Brooks saddle.
The rear wheel was in real bad shape, so the Basman wheels where mounted again.
Also mounted a pair of fenders to the bike.
Foto-RHTZP4L3-D.jpg

After i tried out the bike,i knew this was the bike i was looking for.
And the Ratrod could leave again, so i sold it.

After driving the bike for a few weeks i had to try something else.
Cleaned up the original RS wheels, and repared the rear wheel.
Mounted a other seatpost to move the saddle backwards.
And mounted a better chain and a other chainwheel.
Also mounted a headlight because of the dark days during the winter.

Foto-N33LYH3Z-D.jpg

As the RS is at this moment.
The front fender has to come back on it, the rearfender has to come closer to the tire.
As you can see it's single speed now and drives real good.

After a few months it was time to change the RS again.

RS010.jpg

The front and rear fender are fitted closer to the wheels as i would.
And a old lepper seat has been mounted on the bike.

After some time I didn't like the single speed anymore.

RS014.jpg

RS017.jpg

So i replaced the black single speed wheels for a set of red wheels with a Nexus inter 7 coasterbrake rear hub.

W006.jpg

As the wheels where in realy bad shape and i didn't like the red color.
I removed the powdercoat that was already coming of the wheels.

W009.jpg

The powdercoat that was in good shape I treated with some sandpaper.

VW003.jpg

Sprayed primer on the whole wheels including the spokes and the hub.

VW004.jpg

After that the whole wheels where sprayed flat black.

RS017-1.jpg

The redline tires back on the 7spd. wheels and fitted them in the bike.
This is how my RS looks at this moment beeing ready for the upcoming winter months.

Also got me a alu Rat Fink 3spd.Last week.

RF001.jpg

Nice bike in realy good shape.

RF004.jpg

All the parts are in good condition.

RF005.jpg

But i think this one is gone again very soon.

Very Nice what you did to your RS Lowjack'r,

Here's what I did with an RS while i was working on my buildoff bike too.

Finished and sold;
5.jpg

Some specs on this bike;
Italian made Grimeca 3 spoke mtb wheelset converted to single speed.
Added rear and front brakes.
Project 346 seat (diamond patern kinda matches the tires diamond patern).
Electra vintage diamond tread tires.
Dyno apes (brake cables trhough the bars).
Frame and tins painted goldflake over black base.
Wheels painted gold.

RF005.jpg

But i think this one is gone again very soon.

As I said before the Rat Fink is gone again.
I've sold it just 3 weeks after i've bought it.
The reason is that i did have a Rockabilly Boogy last year.
Which i had to sel because i didn't have space enough.
And the RF is not as "easy tho ride" as the RB, and thats just what i like about the RB.
Now the RF was gone, i could buy me a RB again.

RB2001.jpg

Here it is my RB just how it was as i bought it.

I had a pair of WW Thick Brick that has come of my Basman.
And because i like red rims with WW tires.
I had to try how WW's looks on the RB.

RB2003.jpg

Started with changing the front tire.
Than i could see how WW lokk to the RB.

RB2004.jpg

I liked the look so i changed the rear tire also.

In the barn I had still a pair of 333 grips.
As there is more white on the bike now.
And because i don't like the thick rubber/chrome grips.

RB2005.jpg

I changed the grips for the white 333 grips.

RB2007.jpg

The 333 gripshift and grips are on it.

I also don't like the cruiser seats.
So i took an old Brooks saddle out of the barn.

RB2009.jpg

After i changed the seat for the Brooks saddle i had to take some pics.

RB2014.jpg

This is how my RB looks at this moment, i leke it very much.
This one will stay much longer as the RF.

Nice bike CaseyWells, you did a really good job on it !

Can i ask what kind of paint have you used to cover the stripes of your white wall tires?
I asume it does not stay for long... how often do you have to redo the painting? I'm looking to do the same on my RS. :)
