Got this rat trap springer at the 'Cabin Fever' show (thanks Josh).
The spring assembly was pretty rusty, so I gave it a vinegar bath for a week.

Here it is now.

I want to disassemble it to properly clean/polish it. Does anyone have an idea of how to tear it apart or have a link to an exploded drawing of one?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

I rebuilt one on my Flightliner. Unbolt the rockers, POP the cap off one side of the spring rod and then just tap it out. The spring has some tension on it, but not enough to make it impossible to reassemble. There are pics on page three of the build thread thread in Double Nickel and my head to head build. Let me know if you need any help.

When I put mine back together I used a threaded rod cut to length and SS lock nuts instead of the caps. I thought it made it a little easier to put back together, and looks better.

Those are the best I have right now. Trust me, my caps were so rusted they got messed up taking them off
