I just moved to Bristol a few months ago. A lot of hills, I've been working on upgrading a couple cruisers to 3 speeds. How is New Haven treating you?

could be worse could be better, the new haven downtown area / yale is a fun area to cruise around and you have mountains and trails for mt biking minutes away either by car or bike. so yea its nto bad at all.

^^cool. isn't there a famous motorcycle museum in Meriden also?

Almost, it's in Bickenhill which is next to Meriden. Many motorcycles were built in Meriden, Triumph, Velocette and others. There are more photos of Meriden on that photostream, including a monument marking the centre of England and the old Velocette factory.

That's right, she was a Brummy. Do you know which suburb she lived in?

Imagine if she had not lived in Birmingham but lived the centre of England she could have gone from Meriden to Meriden!

no idea what neighborhood she was from. but she didn't move to CT from England, she moved to Mahonoy City, Pennsylvania, a coal mining town. She had a coal mine right next door to her house, which was squatter's rights (the coal mine owned the land, she and grandpa owned the house built on it).

There's another Birmingham in Penn. (and Missouri, Iowa, Michigan, Alabama and maybe others somewhere!)
