Looking for blinky lights for our bikes, front white and red rear, something that you can easily put on and take off, maybe some of those made of silicon that stretch on. I've shopped around and EVERYONE has them, all types, I just need some that are cheap and work and I'm sure I haven't found the best deal yet. Not for seeing, but to be seen, want to have enough for 4-6 bikes, therefore CHEAP! haha

Thanks guys.

i bought the latter, 2 of them. They lasted 1 ride. JUNK. Ya get what ya pay for. The mounts are the worst part. Dont waste the 3 dollars. PLUS, 5 weeks to ship......from China

Thanks for the heads up!

I got the knog knockoffs from dealextreme.com and I really like them. The battery lasted me almost an entire year. They also sell replacement batteries for really super cheap.
set of 2 white @ $5 http://www.dealextreme.com/p/2-led-3-mo ... 2032-48295
set of 2 red @ $5 http://www.dealextreme.com/p/2-led-3-mo ... 2032-48296
But they do bulk discounts so if you were doing 3 of each it would be uhh $4.23 for each set.

Replacement batteries (20 @ $3.43) http://www.dealextreme.com/p/2032-x-20- ... teries-751

So if you've never used dealextreme it's worth noting that sometimes things aren't in stock that say they are and sometimes they just take a really long time to ship things and then however long it takes stuff to get to you from hong kong. So if your alright with waiting it's a solid deal and mine have been problem free.

This is what I've been looking for, now do these wrap around the bar like a rubber band or are they kind of spring loaded to "clip" on?

They wrap around like a rubber band and attach to a clear catch you can see it clearly in this picture.

Yep, that's what I had in mind. I wanna be able to keep them in a bag and if a ride goes into the night just clip them on for safety/law enforcement.

we got ours at a LBS. I think they were under $4.00 each.
Very simple, stretch around the seat post or handlebar.
Press once, and you get a solid light, press again, blinks, press again, and it goes off.

They are just intended to make you visible to others, the one on the front will NOT light the way for you.

We just have the reds for the rear. We haul the bikes all the time, and they have not fallen off yet.

The expensive clip on head lights now are another story. Both fell off on the road somewhere. :(

When I go trail riding at night I use a very bright head lamp attached to my helmet. For these lights I am thinking more along the lines of our vacation this summer, I want to do a lot of riding and keep the family safe.

I've had many styles of super cheap blinkies, but the best ones I have, and have had for years now, are not cheap, but not expensive either, work great, have great battery life and excellent brackets... they are the Planet Bike blinkies.

I'm going to go with something that doesn't leave a bracket on the bike. Too many bikes that these would be swapped back and forth on, and I don't like brackets (especially empty ones) on a bike.
