Simple build this year, 1991 (or’92) Specialized Rock Hopper Chromoly frame & fork to be build up as an anti-clunk, urban assault, street bomber, or whatever they’re called.

My parts box arrived Saturday instead of the predicted Monday (hooray!) so I attached the 8-spd 11-32t freewheel.

And assembled the Surly Stainless Steel rings. 46/36t, like the old rings. Left off the 26t. At this point if I encounter a hill that needs that small of ring, I’ll be walking. .

Wait... there is a company that makes rings with older Shimano BCD?
