What are opinions on this type of stand.

Those stands are great for routine maintenance but not so much for cheater bar/rust breaking style teardowns... ;-)
 
I know, it's not a "bike stand" per say but I swear by this thing:

Works great for working on bikes(has rubber padded jaws but I still toss a rag in with fresh paint) also doubles as a great bearing cup press/paint stand. I poo poo'd it when I got it as a present a few years back but I swear buy it now. It'll easily hold even the heaviest cruiser with absolutely no fear of tipping. It also fold up to a reasonable size when not in use which is great for my cramped shop.

I trolled CL for a couple of months before claiming one of these PRS-13s, along with a few of Park's pricer tools, in a package deal. It was only produced for one year, but I swear by it...rather than AT it.
