someone has already made a custom bamboo bike?

I want to make a simple cruiser in this matter in order to use it every day thanks to its weight and comfort

CALFEE has already done that, but the handlebar and fork are ugly

the big problem is the bamboo bending .... I think trying to make a template and place over young bamboo and then do it dry like this

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I think thats awesome! :rockout:

tastes aside, I think growing the bamboo bent is genius and probably the best way to go if you have the time, It grows pretty fast I think...right??

Yes, bamboo grows REALLY fast and is tough to eradicate!
From my martial arts days I know the stuff will bend like mad, and leaves a nasty welt!
Besides riding like a wet noodle, I imagine bonding it together is a p.I.t.a.
Besides those 2 things I bet it rides nice!

The horn handle bars are cool and organic, but it would really hurt if they dug into your thigh.

The horn handlebars really need to be turned the other direction.

And it also needs some 70's style, stem mounted, friction shifters with big fuzzy covers made from cow's ears.
